Registration is now open for the Summer School of the H2020 BATModel project, which will take place between May 22 and 24 in Seville at the JRC facilities.
On May 22, 23 and 24, the BATModel Summer School will be held in Seville, at the European Commission Joint Research Center, with the aim of being a comprehensive on-site course taught by a team of experts in microdata, econometric techniques, model building and policy analysis.
The BATModel Summer School will be a promising event aimed at policy makers and professionals who deal with trade policies and trade policy analysis using economic data and models.
This event will also be an opportunity to find out about the progress of the last four years of the project and the main results achieved.
The official program for the three days of the event is now available. It features excellent speakers who are part of the project consortium and who will be divided throughout the event into 6 different working sessions, the themes of which are:
- Modelling trade policies Theoretical and applied background – why BATMODEL?
- Distributional and sustainability impacts of modelling trade liberalisation and trade policy
- Modelling Global Value Chains (GVC) – A CGE tool for GVC analysis
- Theoretical knowledge and empirical analysis of Geographical Indications (GIs) and Non-Tariff Measure (NTMs) in trade context
- Policy implementation and policy assessment: the CETA case
- Conclusions and discussion

Registration is now fully open and can be done by filling in the registration form.
Although registration is free, it is compulsory to fill in the form in question, as registrations are limited and there are only places for 25 participants.
This registration includes:
- access to the JRC, supporting documentation, coffee breaks and lunches. The cost of flights and accommodation will be under the responsibility of each participant.
- A certificate will be sent on completion of the Summer School.
